Davidson is a legal practitioner with over 10 years’ experience in different areas of corporate/commercial law.
He is a Partner in AELEX, a reputable firm with offices in Nigeria and Ghana, and works in the firm’s intellectual property (IP), technology, media, and telecommunications (TMT) practice groups.
Davidson regularly counsels on matters related to technology, data protection, and intellectual property rights. He advises clients on a range of legal issues affecting Information and Communication Technology (ICT). He also advises on various trans-border issues relating to ICT, including but not limited to Financial Technology (FinTech), Cybercrime, Cybersecurity, Digital Signature, Digital Rights Management (DRM) Data Protection & Privacy.

His broad IP practice focuses primarily on non-contentious and general IP work as he works closely with clients across various industries to manage, protect and exploit their portfolio of IP rights, including trademarks, patents and design covering multiple jurisdictions worldwide. He is also very experienced in handling complex cross border IP issues and often helms the strategy as he manages disputes including oppositions and negotiations.
He was recently appointed by the Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC) to the committee charged with the responsibility of setting up a framework for the use of FinTech in the Capital Markets. He is a member of the Africa Global Advisory Council of the International Trademark Association (INTA) which has oversight functions over the advancement of IP in Africa. As a member of this committee, he has been canvassing for the amendment of the obsolete IP laws in Nigeria. He also belongs to several associations including the Nigerian Bar Association, the International Bar Association, the UK Chartered Institute of Trademark Attorneys and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.

He was recognized by the World Trademarks Review, in its 2019 rankings, as one of the world’s leading 1,000 intellectual property attorneys.

He has an LL. B from the University of Ibadan (Nigeria), an LL.M from the University of Cumbria (UK) and an MBA from the University of London (UK).
